Canadian Maple
Acer Saccharinium is a North American tree which can grow to a height of 25–40 metres with a trunk 3.5 metres in diameter. An easily grown tree, the maple likes a well-drained but not too dry soil. This gives it a rustic look, characterised by the initially grey or yellowish and later reddish bark, which tends to come away in large flat chunks. It has a large, broad crown from which the flowers only emerge after the leaves and the fruit grows in double samaras.
Technical Information
Maple is a medium-hard wood, naturally pale in colour with an even shade between light brown and pinkish white, which gives it a natural, satin sheen. A hard, stringy wood with average shrinkage, it has a stippled vein pattern with stripes which can be dense and wavy, seldom simply straight.

Iroko
Iroko
Chlorophora Excelsa, a native of West Africa, is a large tree which may reach up to 50 metres in height and 1.80 metres or more in diameter. With a dark colour and shades ranging from brownish yellow to green, a structure with straight, regular trunks and buttresses which supply logs of considerable length, it is a particularly tough, long-living tree.
Technical Information
Iroko is a medium-hard species of timber with only slight shrinkage and excellent resistance to damp and wear. It has an intricate vein pattern with iridescent highlights tending to golden brown, which darken over time. Due to its outstanding strength and durability, Iroko is suitable for use not just as flooring in homes but also in boat-building, since it is particularly resistant to saltwater.

Doussie
Doussiè
From the countries of central Africa, the Doussiè
plant belongs to the Fabaceae family and is known
as the Afzelia tree.
The tree reaches a considerable size with heights
of up to 40 metres and a diameter of 1.20 metres,
with a trunk section that is consistent in its width.
As for the colour, the sapwood is whitish, while the
heartwood is a beautiful reddish-brown colour.
Technical Information
Doussie is a very hard wood with an interlocking grain that does not change during the wood-ageing process. Doussie wood is durable and offers high resistance to foot traffic wear and insect attacks. Its elegant reddish-brown colour makes it a very popular choice in the production of wood flooring. Its main characteristics feature high resistance to moisture and mechanical stresses, withstanding different climatic conditions. It is ideal for wood flooring, and is especially suitable in homes with underfloor heating.

Noce Americano
Black Walnut
A native of North America, Junglans Nigra is probably the best known, most widely used type of timber in the world. It was exported into Europe in the 17th century as an ornamental and forestry tree due to its rapid growth. Walnut trees can grow up to 20-30 metres tall and have a crown of composite deciduous leaves surrounding an upright trunk with rough bark.
Technical Information
Black Walnut is a medium-hard timber species with particularly good strength, making it durable over time. It has a dark brown colour and broad, straight, sometimes undulating veining with clearly defined growth rings. Another distinctive feature of this timber species is the clear difference in colour between the younger wood which is yellowishwhite and older wood which is chocolate coloured.

Teak
Teak
Tectona Grandis belongs to the Verbenaceae family and grows in South-East Asia. It has always been considered one of the finest of all timbers, and is slightly oily to the touch. With its strong, distinctive smell, it is one of the most durable woods virtually immune to insect attack and very water-resistant.
Thanks to its characteristics of beauty, durability, strength and adaptability... teak is an excellent timber for many applications. This includes boatbuilding and outdoor furnishings, where the variations in temperature, damp conditions and salt spray are difficult for any other type of wood to withstand.
Technical Information
Teak is golden brown in colour, sometimes with greenish brown variegation. The veins are generally straight, with grain patterning varying from fine to coarse. Teak is a hard wood with outstanding resistance to weather, making it a perfect timber for damp conditions or use outdoors, where it is extremely durable.

Wengè
Millettia Laurentii comes from the forests of the Congo Basin and Mozambique. A compact wood with a fibrous structure, it is not easy to work with and is most suitable for ornamentation. Wenge is a very heavy timber with minimal shrinkage. It has outstanding resistance to pressure and traction, and is virtually immune to parasite attack. Elegant and functional, it is the ideal timber for those wishing to combine tradition and modernity.
Technical Information
Wenge is dark brown ranging to black in colour, with grain varying from medium to coarse. The veins in this timber are generally straight, with minimal shrinkage and expansion in response to temperature changes. Thanks to its excellent physical characteristics and hardness, wenge is a very durable wood.

Acacia
Acacia
This is a genus of plants of the Mimosaceae family (Fabaceae or according to the classification APG). In Italy the most well-known plants of this kind are mimosas, while the term acacia in everyday language refers to the species Robiniapseudoacacia.
There are approximately 1300 Acacia species in the world, with 960 originating in Australia and the remaining widespread in warm regions and tropical climates of Africa, in Southeast Asia and the Americas. The acacia tree reaches a height of up to 25 metres. It is characterized by a light brown bark and very wrinkled imparipinnate leaves. The leaves are in fact made up of 11-21 smaller leaves which are open during the day and at night tend to overlap.
Technical Information
The Acacia wood has excellent qualities known since ancient times (the wood with which has been handed down was built the Biblical Ark of the Covenant). It ‘a medium texture wood, regular, with straight or woven fibers, folding, with good impact resistance and porous and very hard, compact and elastic, easily fendibile, from red-golden-orange, that stands out especially after a good polishing of the surface. When it is dry is well solid, unassailable by worms and moisture-resistant. Machinability is fair, but it contains some tougher slick; It has a tendency to crack at the fiber.

African Wood
African Walnut
The African Walnut is similar in appearance to other Teak and has brown, green or yellow-brown bark and a straight grain. It grows up to 50 metres in height. The trunk is buttressed to about 2.5 metres and is approximately 2 metres in diameter. African Wood is used in boat building, joinery, wood flooring and decorative veneers.
Technical Information
The wood color: yellowish-white sapwood clearly differentiated from golden-brown heartwood or to brown-shiny oil. With aging takes on the heartwood yellowish hue in variegated brown more or less gloomy. It has a fine texture and a grain that ranges from straight to ruffled. The sapwood is mediocre or poor resistance to changes while the heartwood performs excellently and can be considered to be quite durable.

Rovere
Rovere
Quercus Petrea, or sessile oak, is a tree native to central-southern Europe, commonly found in hill and mountain areas up to 1300 metres above sea level. It belongs to the Fagaceae family and grows to about 30-40 metres in height with an erect, sturdy, tapered trunk with branches in the upper part only, forming a broad crown with deciduous foliage.
Thanks to their deep root system, oaks produce a timber with outstanding resistance to weather and especially to drought. They are long-living and survive to 500-800 years of age and reach their full size between 120-200 years.
Technical Information
The key timber species in the Proparq range, Oak has always been the most popular type of wood for parquet floors thanks to its attractive appearance and durability. The Proparq range in this timber is therefore comprehensive, offering 8 different stylish colours and varying thicknesses, which make up the Essentia and Magna lines.
